The magazine Outdoors NW has recently had some great articles about North Central Washington.

Rufus Woods, editor and publisher of the Wenatchee World, is raving about E3!
In a recent article he explained a little more about the purpose of E3:
Here’s how it’s supposed to work. They’ll recruit 10 people from the region who are already going to the Olympics and who are willing to be ambassadors. They will form the E3 Army, according to Korfiatis and Granstrom. Armed with a brightly colored hat, trading pins, brochures and a free video camera, they’ll look for opportunities to encourage Olympic visitors to travel south and see what this area has to offer.

Wanna know the best places to live in America? You’re in luck. National Geographic publishes a list for outdoor enthusiasts every year with some of the best places in America.
On the list in 2007 was North Central Washington’s Wenatchee! National Geographic says:
…the friendly town is perfectly in sync with the region’s outdoor-centric values. It’s parked in prime alpinist territory, at the foot of the Cascades and on the edge of 4.1-million-acre (2-million-hectare) Okanogan and Wenatchee National Forest.
